Bahia Kino
We’ve spent the last two nights in Bahia Kino and have paid for 4 more. It’s a longer stay than the place would usually warrant, but these are special circumstances. For all those planning a long-term road trip, beware! Make sure that your passport (check), driver’s license (check), insurance (check) AND vehicle registration (oops) do not expire during the trip. We verified with Alberta Registries and they advised that a photocopy of the paperwork is not sufficient when crossing the border. We need the actual sticker on the plate and original paperwork. As a result, Dave’s Dad had to courier the documents to us in Hermosillo, which can take up to 8 days. So, here we are.
We’re on the beach, the weather is warm and we’ve got a comfortable site. However, with Sienna not being terribly interested in the ocean, we’ve pretty much exhausted potential forms of activity. We’re in a rather flat piece of desert, so mountain biking, while possible, would be rather dull. We did bike the length of Viejo and Nuevo Kino, which took care of a few hours yesterday afternoon and was… rather dull. The day before that, we walked the beach and collected shells. Today, we walked the beach and collected sea glass. I’m thinking tomorrow we can walk the beach and… I wouldn’t dare complain when our friends and families back home are in -20C, but… Let’s put it this way: you probably won’t be getting too many updates during the next week.
Adios amigos!
